Time flies. I'm half done with my Thesis and will be flying off to Tampa, Florida this Saturday. The conference I'm going to is always held in mid-Feb and thus almost certainly clash with either V-day or MX's birthday every year. Only that this year it also coincides with CNY and since there is a saying that whatever you do on new year's day you'll be doing it for the rest of the year, it seems to hint that I'll be to slogging through the year of the golden pig. Here's how I'm going to spend my exciting CNY.
New year's eve - fly to Charlotte and then onwards to Tampa. Arrive at night, check in to hotel and do the piglet thing i.e. eat and sleep.
New year's day - Conference registration and honorary lectures.
New year's 2nd day - Oral Presentation!! *traumatised*
New year's 3rd day - More oral presentations but by others. :)
New year's 4th day - Last day of conference, afternoon flight back to London.
New year's 5th day - Arrive in London and the party begins!! Have arranged dinner with Jo & Clem & Viv.
New year's 6th day - First day back at work. DUH.
New year's 7th day - Lao Yu Sheng at Shaoren's place, mini JC friends gathering.
New year's 8th day - Lao Yu Sheng with IC friends. :)
There you go. Actually, it's not too bad lah. Just a little inconvenient to call home and wish everyone a happy new year. Hopefully this will be my last CNY away from home. Did go back last year and no words can describe the warmth and happiness of being surrounded by my extended family and loved ones.
The three little pigs in my family are going to turn 24 this year. They are my two lovely cousins and my dearest brother. Sometimes I still regard them as kids though they've been out working for a couple of years already. Anti-ageing psychology in play here. Anyway, hope that it'll be a good year for them. :)
